Walk this way, seniors
Photos by Shane Epping

Symbolizing their exit from the university, seniors ran and walked through the Columns on Francis Quadrangle this afternoon. Following Tiger Prowl, a ceremony hosted by the Mizzou Alumni Association, festivities continued on the Carnahan Quad with food, drinks and entertainment.

These are beautiful photos! Really nice.

Did they answer correctly the question: which two columns are farthest apart?

When I graduated, in 1954, KOMU-TV had just been operating a short time and was filming its first graduation ceremonies. As we marched in the processional, the word was being sent through the line: “Don’t trip on the TV cable, pass it back.” The cable was anchored to the ground with thick black tape. After having passed the word back, with gusto, as I walked in front of the camera, of course, I was the one who tripped.
